The Hebrideans Ceilidh Band

The Band are led by George Smith on Accordion (midi) who hails originally from the Isle of Mull. George has been playing professionally for 30 years and has a lively West Coast style of playing. He has recorded over 15 CD’s tapes and LP’s throughout his career and is much sought after by Scottish and Gaelic singers alike for his accompaniment.

Annabel Gillan has been playing Fiddle professionally with Ceilidh Bands since the age of 14 and has won many of the major awards for her fiddling talents, the most prestigious being the Pan Celtic Fiddle Award in 2002 representing Scotland. As well as Band and Solo playing Annabel is a terrific Dance Caller and has the ability to get the most inexperienced dancers on to the floor and dancing.

Drums: We work with some of Scotland’s top pipe band drummers to get the Dancers and Musical Enthusiasts toes tapping.

Singers: Should you like a singer for your Occasion then we’ve got the very people. Choose from either a Scottish Singer, Gaelic Singer or 60’s/70’s Rock and Roll.

Our aim is to give you an affordable, enjoyable and fun time based on your individual requirements so whether you are on a budget or your venue cannot accommodate a large Band please feel free to book the Duo (Accordion & Fiddle) and you have an equally good time.

The Hebrideans Ceilidh Band appeal to all ages for all types of function. The difference between us and many other Bands is that we watch the Dancers whilst playing so we keep up with you rather then you keep up with us! We are smartly dressed (kilts and tartan by request) and punctual time keepers. We supply our own PA system.

Be it a Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, Co-operate Event, Anniversary, Retirement, School Dance or just an excuse for a Ceilidh then you’ve found your Band!
